Senior Alexandra Bohn was selected this past May to be the inaugural Laudato Si Challenge Foundation scholarship recipient. Included with the scholarship, Alex has had the opportunity to work with the Laudato Si Challenge all summer helping to direct their social media strategy.

The scholarship also includes the opportunity to attend their annual fall summit, held at the Vatican. Alex will travel to the Vatican and to Assisi, Italy, and live our charism by helping serve others. Her Laudato Si Challenge Summit experience will last from August 31-September 12.

The Laudato Si Challenge (LSC), which gets its name from the 2015 encyclical of Pope Francis, Laudato Si, takes the challenges and goals from the encyclical and answers “the cry of the earth” through bold, coordinated, and measurable impacts.

Alex has been interning for Mr. DiCrisi, father of Anna ’22 and Sami ’26. Alex shares, “I’ve known Mr. DiCrisi for many years, and so I was blessed with the personal connection. Mr. DiCrisi is on the Executive Board of the LSC and was able to extend the invitation.”

After Alex completes her scholarship experience, she will have a day to travel in Italy with her mom, visiting cities like Florence.

A standout student, Royal Reporter, and member of Trinitas Theatre, Alex said, “I’m most nervous about leaving behind reality, with my AP courses and busy theatre schedule, but I’m most excited to meet so many amazing people who truly care about every individual no matter where they’re from and who they are. I’m also excited to travel to Italy itself because I’ve always dreamed of traveling there.”

While she’s away, Alex will keep a travelog and, upon her return, update the Royal Reporter with details from her exciting trip.
