AIRPORT POLICE OFFICER

TRAFFIC/SAFETY PATROL SPECIALIST

The Traffic Safety Patrol Specialist will provide for the safety and security of traffic approaching the terminal on upper and lower level curbside. Duties include directing traffic to ensure the terminal traffic is moving efficiently during peak and non-peak periods of the day. In addition to traffic flow the Traffic Security Agent will monitor unattended vehicles parked at curbside and advise the Airport Communications Center of illegally parked vehicle. During non-peak periods the Traffic Security Agent will patrol the parking decks for suspicious activity. JOBSITE SECURITY AGENT

The Savannah Airport Commission is accepting applications for a Jobsite Security Agent. The employee in this position will provide monitoring of jobsites specific to construction or terminal work sites.  This may include guarding gates, providing instructions to construction or jobsite workers and escorting contractors or jobsite workers.  The primary function of this position is to ensure that jobsites or construction sites are protected and only authorized contractors and workers are permitted access to the area.

Position Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to make sound judgment decisions related to assigned duties.
  • Ability to conduct briefings.
  •  Ability to communicate using a two-way radio system and the telephone.
  •  Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and/or written) with others.
  •  Ability to meet and maintain Transportation Security Administration
    requirements authorizing unescorted access entry to the AOA (Airfield
    Operations Area), sterile area, or secured area

    understand what airport credentials are accepted into jobsites or
    construction zones.
  • Notifies the Airport Public Safety Department should an unauthorized
    individual attempt to access the construction zone or jobsite.

MOBILITY SERVICES DISPATCHER

Under general direction from the Operations Manager, the Mobility Services Dispatcher answers phone calls, and dispatches Customer Care Specialist (CCS) to passengers needing assistance.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Associates degree of higher level of education preferred.
  • Familiarity dealing with individuals with disabilities is helpful as is any knowledge of 14 C.F.R part 382
  • Strong working knowledge of windows-based software programs and familiarity with basic computer functions is required.
  • Possession of a valid state issued Driver’s License
  • Ability to meet and maintain Transportation Security Administration requirements authorizing unescorted access entry to Security Identification Display Area (SIDA).

Dispatch Responsibilities

  • Works with the AvTech system to equitably assign Customer Care Specialist to specific passengers.
  • Answers phone calls for ad hoc assistance or questions.
  • Preforms Customer Care Specialist duties during low business times or as needed.
  • Dispatches from tablet if not at the Dispatch desk.
  • Trains new employees with AvTech system and assists employees that have questions.
